Painting Space experiments with the projection of a layered painting on a wooden structure. The original painted image played with the ideas of behind, in between and in front of- the video projection was treated in a similar way. This video documentation is a visual and spatial experiment where I am exploring the idea of a painting existing in more dimensions than the traditional 2D surface. The original painting was oil and stain on wood panel, in this video you can see the projection of the wood onto the wood structure as well as the wood on the human body. At the same time the painted figures are projected onto my figure. This work is the beginning of a multi-dimensional exploration of painting.
