I attempted to “recreate” the metal window looking into my childhood home in Lima. The opening is right on the street where our house sits and the audio is taken from the same busy Lima streets. A slideshow of photos taken inside and outside the home are projected onto and through the steel rebar window I created- sometimes the window is even seen on the photos themselves. The materiality and imperfection of the steel rebar window speak to the idea of memories and time, while the shadow creates a crisp frame to hold the memories.
